My family and those within in it have been hit pretty hard over the last few weeks. And a very wise person decided that we should think of our blessings and shared hers. So here are mine.
Things I am thankful for:
1. My sweet, sweet Bubbalicious who showers me with kisses and hugs each and every day
2. That the same sweet child finally, finally stopped crying last night at 1:00 AM and allowed me to fall asleep. Finally.
3. That after two hours of non-stop screaming I was able to find a
solution that worked. I taught him how to hug his glo-worm. That seemed
to amuse him and content him long enough to be left alone in his crib
and fall asleep.
4. My dear, sweet husband. Not only is he my provider and protector and
all that a husband should be – but he is still and always will be my
best friend. He is the one that I laugh and cry with and the only one
who truly “gets” me.
5. That I am employed. I may not like my job at times and the stress of
it all may drive me crazy. But I have one – it pays the bills and
provides insurance for my family. It helps keep a roof over our heads,
clothes on our backs, and food in our mouths.
6. My family. We may not always agree. And we may drive each other
nuts. But without a doubt, there is deep, deep love there. My family
has always been there for me – always. For every major and minor
occasion in my life they have been there. And there is not one of them
who wouldn’t drop everything to come help you, if you needed it.
7. My sister – I never imagined when I was younger that I would have a
sister like this. I can talk to her about anything and everything and
she always understands instantaneously what I mean. Also? Kick-butt
Euchre partner.
8. For Tim’s brother Travis and his wife (and my bestest friend) Jenny.
I can’t imagine life without them. They are beyond family and beyond
friends. We respect, admire, love, and appreciate them. They have
helped us, guided us, laughed with (and at) us, and cried with us over
the years.
9. For puppies. Because I love them! From Molly to Prince and Otis, I
love the puppies in my life. They always make me smile! :)
10. For our church family. We have been blessed with a wonderful church and the members really do feel like family.
11. For my salvation. I’m feeling really guilty that this is so far
down the list, because frankly, it should be number one. But I’m too
lazy to move it right now, so don’t judge me. K? I am beyond grateful
for my salvation. I can not hardly believe that God loves me so much
and I know that I don’t deserve it – but yet…He does. And He died for
me. It’s overwhelming.
12. For great examples. We have so many great examples in our life to
aspire to. So many great people who have spent their lives dedicated to
doing the will of God. So many great people that we can go to for
advice and they will always ask “Did you pray about it?”. So many
people that we can just wish – if I could only be that dedicated.
13. For that sweet, sweet nectar: Diet Coke
14. The Amazing Race. That show entertains me like none other. Pure editing genius, that show.
15. The Internet. I think the world would be a dark, dreary place
without it. Seriously, I can not imagine life without email. Can you?
16. Caller ID. I love our new (well, it was a Christmas present, but still) phone with Caller ID. How did my world exist without Caller ID? How?
17. Little Debbie’s. Okay, I know that they are not the most healthy
thing in the world. But you get a whole lot of goodness for 97 cents.
And swiss cake rolls? Those are a little piece of heaven, my friend.
18. And while we are on the subject of a little piece of heaven, I’ve got two words for you: Krispy Kreme.
Okay, I’m beginning to realize that I could go on and on. What are you thankful for?
